New 7-seater Buick Envision Fully Leaked in China

Buick has developed a longer variant of the new Envision that has a larger cabin capable of accommodating 3 rows of seats and up to 7 seats. This new variant of the compact crossover will be presented next April at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show.

Last year the second generation of the compact crossover of the American firm, the new Buick Envision, was presented. This model will be marketed in both the Chinese and North American markets, and is based on the same variant of the Epsilon platform that uses the Cadillac XT4, with which it shares the supercharged 4-cylinder block.

The Buick Envision is a 4.63 meter long, 5-seater compact crossover that will also feature a luxurious Avenir version. However, the white unit that stars in these photographs does not correspond to this body variant, as these are the first images of the new 7-seater variant of the American crossover, as they have been filtered shortly before its presentation at the Salon of the Shanghai Automobile 2021.

This new variant has a length of 4,845 mm, 209 mm more, but the rest of its dimensions do not change, including its wheelbase, as the engineers of the American company have gained the additional space by stretching only the rear overhang.

On a mechanical level, this variant will share the same powertrain as the conventional 5-seater Buick Envision, a 2.0-liter supercharged 4-cylinder block that delivers 240 hp (237 hp) and is associated with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The only possible option will be to choose between the front-wheel drive version or the one equipped with an all-wheel drive system.
