New KTM 1290 Super Duke RR 2021

A new KTM 1290 Super Duke RR 2021 has been launched. It is hard to imagine a KTM with more performance than the current Super Duke R, although everything can be improved.

The RR engine will be homologated for Euro5, as is required, but announces the same power of 177 hp. As for the rest, it is logical to think that the suspensions will be the most sophisticated multi-adjustable WP Apex Pro, and that perhaps the geometries could be slightly different.

It is also expected that we will see various elements in carbon in the KTM 1290 Super Duke RR 2021 as standard, both functional and decorative, as well as forged aluminum wheels, all of which are designed to reduce a few kilos from the maximum weight.

It’s also been launched a KTM 890 Duke (not ‘R’), which should replace the current 790. We imagine that it will basically adopt the suspensions and brakes of the 790, less sophisticated than in the 890 R. 114 hp is declared, 5 hp less than in the 890 R. Recall that in the case of the 690 and 690 R there was also a slight difference maximum power.

This means that the 790 engine, short-lived in KTM, will totally disappear in Austrian motorcycles, although CFMoto uses it for its new 2021 trail 800MT and possibly for a future naked of this powerful Chinese brand.
